Not exactly on the way to work...
But funny nonetheless. Hondo, Texas is west of San Antonio, on the way to Del Rio. We happened to be out that way this weekend, and since I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary on the way to work lately, I thought this would make a great post.

Horses, horses, horses
Evidently it was Texas Pride Day at the elementary school close to my house today. Along with the horses in the parking lot, I saw kids walking to school in all sorts of cowboy getup. Like these city kids have ever even seen a cow up close and personal.
I would have taken a picture of the kids, but I didn't want some over-reactive parent getting all up in my craw thinking I was creepy taking pictures of their kids.

Empty cop cars
I guess the San Antonio police are responding to the rash of recent accidents along loop 1604 (aka the "Death Loop) on the north side of town. I also suppose that they must have a bunch of cars laying around that they're not using because they're putting empty cop cars in the median to slow people down. What they don't realize is that people aren't getting in accidents because they're speeding...they're getting in accidents because they're either stupid or because the person in front of them slams on their brakes and they're too busy chatting on the phone.

Ducks on 410
I'm sure it's probably illegal to post a picture with someone's license plate in it, but what the hell...I didn't feel like taking the time to photoshop it, and besides, if you're driving around town with stuffed yellow ducks in your back window, you deserve to be recognized, right?

Chopper
So I'm driving along 1604 on my way home from work, and I see what I think at first is a boat on a flatbed. As I get closer, I can see that it's not a boat, but a helicopter! It obviously doesn't have it's rotors attached (can you imagine the traffic mess it would have caused), and I'm sure it was heading either to Camp Bullis or one of the Air Force Bases in town. It got off at I-10, but I didn't see what direction it headed.
